With most GP clinics restricted by Medicare compliance, this practice is thinking outside the box; working smarter not harder to achieve above-average results. Procedural work include skin cancer treatments, cosmetic services & minor surgeries are all privately billed. The owner is happy to support learning in these areas for the new buyer or alternately if the buyer has no interest in procedural skills, the owner can continue to come up on a monthly basis to undertake vasectomies & circumcisions.

With agreements in place at 3x of local mines, there are a huge number of PEM’s undertaken at this practice. 3x nurses support the GP's, 3x pts can be under process at any time w/ a nurse in with 2x pts whilst the GP sees a 3rd pt in the tx rm. The bldg was architecturally designed and allows the GP + pts to have an easy flow. Rent is $2800/month incl GST. Upstairs there is a 2 b/rm unit too which could be rented on a long term from the owner should a new buyer wish to live onsite.

Since July 1 2017 the practice has increased their level B consult price from $70 to $75, lvl C from $95 to $100, medicals have increased by $20 ea (approx. 7%) & medicals for humanomics increased by 25% from $60 to $75. The costs have remained static; therefore, profit hitting the bottom line of this practice has increased significantly. Recent monthly gross billings were $96,300 + w/ a quarter being $288K. Some of the expenses have been reduced recently too to make the business more profitable.

The majority of pts present for either an Occupational PEM or return to work appointment, or a procedure so minimal sick pts! A non-VR GP can bill at the higher A1 rate in this location (ie Oz or NZ grad) but restricted by 9AA (as a PR or Australian citizen and not yet a GP Fellow)! Currently 1x additional GP wkg p/t at this practice as well as the owner who works 3-4 days weekly so effectively 1x FTE.
