LINK Business Brokers was first formed in 1996. Back then, explaining the role of a business agent was often misrepresented or misunderstood. I always wanted to redefine the industry, and do for business agents what John McGrath did for real estate agents more than 30 years ago. He gave that market a solid boost and made buyers and sellers realise the importance of good representation.

Our then small business brokerage firm, that was first set up in New Zealand, has since grown and expanded to other markets. We now have a strong presence in Australia, South Africa, the United States and the Philippines.

The role of a business agent is to help a buyer find the best business opportunity that aligns with their skills, values and goals, and to ease the stress of the other party selling. As the business broker, we need to understand the needs of both parties—discovering why a person is selling their business and working out what a person wants to invest time and money in.
